What I Bought Today :: iPhone 4 Accessories

What I Bought Today :: iPhone 4 Accessories

I love my iPhone. Like so many others, we have a good thing going.

I try to dress it up when I can in order to get the most use out of it. And by dress up, I mean accessories {even an iPhone wants to be fancy with accessories}.

My 2 favorites thus far:

{the glif :: tripod and stand}

{small gadget :: simple design}

It is sleek.  It is sturdy.  It is easy to use.  For $20.  Wanna see all your options?  Check it…

And secondly:

{case-mate :: id or credit card case and holder}

When headed out with the ladies for an evening of dancing and you are carrying your favorite clutch, this case is your solution.  It keeps it all together so you aren’t left digging for your i.d. and it keeps your shit together to make room for important items like lipstick and powder.

{case-mate also does rad designs with the card carrying feature}

I don’t use it every day, since I looove the design of my iPhone and I don’t bother with a case.  Something to keep in mind, it may stretch out with time when using 3 cards and then going back to 2 cards.  I suggest picking a number of cards and sticking with it.  Sounds annoying but for a little over $20, it serves its purpose.

How about them Apples?

What I Bought Today :: Aubergine Tumblers

What I Bought Today :: Aubergine Tumblers

My apartment is decorated in a mash-up {I learned that word from Glee} of Moroccan meets Hollywood Regency.  I am continually on the prowl for Moroccan pieces.  Luckily, Z Gallerie is going through a similar mash-up phase.

One immediately walks in and you are greeted with the glossiness lacquer of tchotchkes {who knew it was spelled like a Russian vodka?} and bold colors.  While the store itself is rather overpriced, I do like to check out their sale signs and racks.

{green moroccan lamps on the sale rack :: get this effect when lit…}

{lighting is the most important element of a room}

I try to avoid buying too many items at stores like Z, only because it is similar to shopping at Pottery Barn.  Great stuff, but when things are from stores that specialize in mass production, your home can end up looking…generic.  (See Friends episode 6.11 : The One With The Apothecary Table)

{the whole purple aubergine set}

Just like many things in life: balance and harmony is the key.  A nice balance of standard factory items, in harmony with unique flea market finds.

{i took this picture of my new moroccan aubergine tumblers}

These lamps invoke a “play it again, Sam” moment…see, Hollywood Regency at its finest.

What I Bought Today :: LA Tote

What I Bought Today :: LA Tote

I love walking the streets of LA and just stumbling upon something so rad that you know your pocketbook is about to get served.  Today I found the cutest tote bag by Maptote and I have to admit: I am a sucker for a good bag.  And not just handbags, I mean, all bags: shopping bags. Fanny packs. Seasonal ziploc bags with the cute fun designs.

After checking out Maptote on online, I discovered they make great totes for many of my favorite cities.  (The Austin bag is calling my name!)

I choose my purchases with fastidious care.  Everything I own is very personal to me and I can remember why and where I bought every item.  Especially items for my home.  I am under the belief that your home is an extension of you and it really is a statement about you are.

Recently, I stumbled upon this amazingly talented chick, Jenny Beorkrem (at www.orkposters.com), who makes the most artistic and endearing posters I have ever laid my eyes upon.  Not only does she make regular posters, but she does screen prints (and signs them on the back), has a very detailed post about how to hang your purchase, and she explains why she picked certain colors for certain cities.  LA-mazing!
